The Roos are a vibrant rugby union community based at Keirle Park Manly, NSW, Australia. A safe local environment in which you and your child will enjoy one of the truly great international team sports. We provide youngsters with the opportunity to build skills, character and teamwork in a game that is contemporary, professional and international.

The Roos fields teams in all age groups from U6 to U9 (Minis), from U10 to U12 (Juniors) and from U13 to Open (Playing as Manly Savers). The Roos are affiliated with the Manly Junior Rugby Union (MJRU), along with the Seaforth Raiders, Harbord Harlequins, Allambie Jets and Forest Rugby, who manage the MJRU representative teams and assist in rugby promotion in the area.

Girls are also welcome to play Rugby with the Roos; alongside boys in Mini grades or in the new All Girls’ Rugby Competition which started in 2017.

Who runs the Roos?

The members run the Roos! The club is fuelled by the energy of all those that play, coach, support and manage it, all on a voluntary basis.

There are plenty of opportunities to become involved at the Roos. The Roos Club 2016 sets out who does what, and how those roles support the teams on the field. Each team also needs parents to help with team coaching, gear, paperwork, social events, as well as ground marshals and linesmen (All Junior teams must provide one of every game…). Just ask anyone with the Club already, or just send us an email to start getting involved!

The Roos Club Committee meets at Keirle Park Clubhouse once month (check the ‘Upcoming events’ on the home page), with representatives from all age divisions. Please feel free to attend if you have any questions or suggestions for the club, or just want to get involved.

The Roos receive NO Australian, NSW or Manly Rugby Union funding. Money comes from registration fees, merchandise sales, home game canteens, social functions and limited private and corporate sponsorship. The Committee always welcomes new fundraising initiatives, ideas and a helping hand.

Please contact our President, Andy Evans by email if you are interested in becoming a sponsor for the Roos. To learn more about sponsoring the Manly Roos visit our Sponsorship page.

  1. My father was the first gear steward for the Warringah Roos printing all the new all white jumpers with the red kangaroo. Brother and I played from u5s to sub district

    • That’s awesome Ross,
The Club just celebrated 60years in 2022. We will look to do a function to mark passing this milestone – watch the socials in 2023!

  2. Did you used to be called Warringah Roos, I remember playing against them in the early 1970’s. Pretty sure they played out of Kierle Park. I played for Killarney Heights, (long gone).
