Player Transfers
There are many reasons for players to change clubs. However, there are competition rules which restrict some transfers. Please contact the club to ask about transferring to the Roos.

Hi Dan, thanks for the note. The easiest way to register is on line via RUGBY LINK (the new Australia-wide Rugby Union system). See our Register for 2017 page for the links. Via the contact page you can find the details for the U14s Age Manager U-14 Mark Sargent, 0409 842 095, mark.sargent@bayer.com. I suggest you also drop him a line. THanks and Cheers, Marty.
Hi, can you tell me where I can find age group details please?
My son’s DOB is 01/04/08 …so he turns 10 this April …does that make him an U10 or U11? Are there strict rules about playing up a year potentially? My son’s a young year 5 but plays his other sports with his year mates (so played up in soccer for instance).
thanks, Rob
Thanks for the question. Playing age groups are determined by the player’s year of birth. It is possible to play up a year, but generally not possible to play down a age group (unless dispensation is given for height / weight by the governing body).
Your son will be in the U10s this year. However it is possible for him to play in U11s if more of his friends at in U11s for example. However, in Rep games he would still have to play in U10s.

Hi there, we are trying to register via the Rugby Link site but when we get to the first page, the dropdown menu doesn’t show any registration form options.
Hi, thanks. Yes it doesn’t appear the the Rugby Link site is opened for registrations as promised. I have changed the Roos website to reflect that now. Thanks. I would wait until you get an official note from the club / age manager saying the site is open for business. Thanks and Cheers Marty
I have a $100 voucher from Service NSW for the active kids program, can I redeem this voucher when registering online, or do I need to do it in person?

Hi, my son is would be in the under 11’s age group. He has however never played rugby before will this be an issue?
Thanks
Rachel
No that won’t be a problem. For example last year we had five boys join the under 11’s who had never played union before. They had a great time and quickly caught up the the boys who had played before.
This is my 3rd time trying to register for U11s, cant succeed? Emailed the club twice already, no response?
Trying to register Sebastian Bush DOB 27/09/2004 for 2018 U14s Vikings team (he played last year for Vikings and previously in Manly Roos teams) and the registration link that keeps sending through only accommodates those registering for U13s and below. Thanks in advance.

Hi Georgia. I am not sure if you received a reply. The registrations are done through the Rugby Xplorer App. The instructions are now on our website. You should bring Hudson down to Keirle Park on Thursday at 5.00pm for run around / try rugby. Regards Geoff
Hello, Just registered our son Daniel Akester via the Rugby AU portal. His DOB is 14/03/2005 he would be in the under 14’s. Can you advise on training days and schedule please? the MRJRU website outline that U14’s Roos play as part of combined Manly Vikings teams with Harbord and Seaforth Clubs. Would be great to understand how this works. Daniel played as a hooker for Dartford Grammar School A team and Bromley Rugby Club in the UK. Recently relocated and he’s keen to get back into rugby. Info would be greatly appreciated. Regards, Rob
Hello. My son is turning 4 and wanting to get started. Is this possible?
Best,
Abby
Hi Abby, since he’s only 4 and the season ends in a five weeks time it’s probably best he comes along in March next year to a try Rugby session. Keep an eye on teh websites for the next season dates.
Thanks
Alan
