Last year, the SJRU proposed to introduce a form of age/weight competition in line with the NZ competitions mentioned. Manly Roos were in favour of that proposal, along with the other clubs in the Manly district. This is the first we have seen of a response. Clearly it is an issue. As the letter says, many boys have the option to seek dispensation to play down an age group. However, there is no mechanism to suggest a larger boy plays up an age group.
