It covers our team playing\u00a0culture and selection policies within age groups.<\/p>\n<p>We have also long had a code of conduct for game times, similar to other clubs,\u00a0which is set out on boards\u00a0on game days. The key points are reproduced below:<\/p>\n<h3>Players:<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Play for your team.<\/li>\n<li>Play to enjoy the game and build your skills.<\/li>\n<li>Cooperate with your coach, manager and team mates so that happens.<\/li>\n<li>Play by the Laws of the game.<\/li>\n<li>Always accept the referee and linesman&#8217;s decision without comment. Only your captain can\u00a0ask a question.<\/li>\n<li>Control your temper.<\/li>\n<li>Whatever the result, don&#8217;t be disappointed if you&#8217;ve given it your best.<\/li>\n<li>Be a good sport: applaud good play by your team or your opponent.<\/li>\n<li>Shake hands with the other team at the end of the match, and clap them off to thank them for the game.<\/li>\n<li>Treat your team and opposition as you would like to be treated.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Parents \/ Spectators:<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Young people play rugby for their enjoyment and development, not\u00a0to win at all costs.<\/li>\n<li>Support young people in their rugby conduct.<\/li>\n<li>Be the example to them that you want to be.<\/li>\n<li>Support the referee and linesmen, whatever you think of their calls.<\/li>\n<li>Support all efforts to remove verbal and physical abuse from the game.<\/li>\n<li>Support the volunteer coaches and managers in making rugby possible for your child.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Coaches \/ Managers<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Support your players&#8217; knowledge of the rules,\u00a0enjoyment of the game, and development of their skills.<\/li>\n<li>Equal effort at training means equal game time.<\/li>\n<li>Keep all training and game time positive, supporting players who make a mistake.<\/li>\n<li>Be professional and accept responsibilities for your actions.<\/li>\n<li>Prepare well for training and games.<\/li>\n<li>Demonstrate appropriate language, behaviour, dress and punctuality.<\/li>\n<li>Demonstrate respect for referees, opponents and opposing coaches.<\/li>\n<li>Discourage excessive talk on the field.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Any verbal or physical abuse or continued lack of respect of volunteers and match officials by anyone involved with Manly Roos Rugby is simply unacceptable. We have and will continue to ask those who are a negative influence to leave the Club.
