Competition Rules
All competitions are conducted under a set of Competition Rules, which outline the Laws of the game (i.e. U19 Law Variations etc), eligibility, durations of matches, draws, judicial procedures etc to be adhered to within the competition. Competition Rules are designed to give competition participants a clearer understanding of the Laws and Regulations of the Game as determined by the IRB and ARU policy and procedures under which the game of Rugby is both played and administered.
Judicial Procedures
Judicial procedures set out the procedures for dealing with the following disciplinary matters:
- When a Player is Ordered Off the playing enclosure;
- When a Player is cited for an act or acts of illegal and/or Foul Play;
- When a Player has been Temporarily Suspended three times in accordance with Regulation 17.20;
- When an act or acts of Misconduct may have been committed by a Union, Player or Person;
IRB Laws of the Game / Junior Player Pathway (JPP)
The Laws of the Game are formulated by the International Rugby Board (IB) and circulated by the Australian Rugby Union in the Laws of the Game, and include the Australian U19 Variations. These include:
- Laws of the Game (Semior Level)
- Seven-A-Side Law Variations
- Australian U19 Law Variations
- Junior Player Pathway (JPP) Law Variations (Walla, Mini & Midi Rugby)
Policies
The Australian Rugby Union have developed a number of policies to provide players, administrators and any other entities in Rugby an additional reference for issues, that are outside the scope of the IRB Laws of the Game and IRB Regulations, and often reference relelvant to Commonwealth and State legislations.
